Women and Crime

The Women and Crime course explores the status of women as victims and/or offenders in the criminal justice system. We examine important gender differences in terms of involvement in the legal system and importantly, different responses to victimization and/or offending by the legal system. Justice can be shaped by gender, race and ethnicity, class, and age.

Student Infographic Projects

An Infographic represents a visual presentation of information used to display data, patterns, trends, and key research. It typically uses graphics, images, charts or figures, and tables to convey, evaluate, and summarize a topic. Students in the Women and Crime course selected a topic that was in some way connected to the involvement of women in the criminal justice system as victims and/or offenders.
