The Environmental Cost of Fast Fashion

While the fashion industry has been around for decades, it has changed rapidly in the recent years. As the desire to dress in the latest trends grows, consumers turn to fast fashion brands for affordable, fresh-from-the-runway designs. However, the growth of the fast fashion industry has led to an increase in carbon emissions during the production process and an increase in textile waste. The effects of the fashion industry on the environment can be reduced, but it takes a conscious effort from consumers to shop from reputable brands and return to a ‘slow’ fashion cycle.
