The People’s Republic of China (PRC) runs their elections in a similar fashion to that of the United States. However, there is one major factor that greatly influences the outcomes of their elections. The Communist Party of China is the largest and most influential political party. To understand the intricacies of the PRC’s election process, it is important to understand the structure of the Chinese National Government, voter eligibility in China, the election process, and the election committee’s role.
Kate Smith is a junior media arts major. In her career, she is driven to create more Eastern Asian representation in media. Being adopted from China and being able to study voting and elections led her to want to research Chinese government functions.
