Voter Suppression

Voter suppression has plagued the United States since it became a country in 1776. There are many different variables that contribute to voter suppression, such as becoming and staying eligible to vote, as well as safe and accessible voting. These factors affect many different groups of people, but specifically affect minority groups. Although these issues harm our democratic process, there are some solutions that can be taken to help combat some of the problems that contribute to widespread voter suppression.
My name is Lee Augenblick, and I am a senior Public Health major here at UofSC. I am originally from New Jersey, but I have lived here for the past four years. I work at the South Carolina Center for Rural and Primary Health and at Pharmacology, Physiology & Neuroscience at the USC School of Medicine. Next year, I hope to continue my education in Public Health by attending graduate school.
