The Supreme Court’s Influence on Elections

Over this nation’s history, particularly following the second half of the 20th century, the Supreme Court has become entwined in the fabric of this nation’s election jurisprudence. Through fixating on various key cases, this presentation seeks to reveal how and why the Court has involved itself in the most sacred backbone of our democracy: the electoral process.
Ryan Duppler is a sophomore in the UofSC Honors College majoring in Political Science. Over the past year and two months, he has been a campaign finance intern and hopes to soon enter law school after graduation. Being a Chicago native, he intends to practice appellate law back in the Midwest, where he will continue rooting for the Chicago White Sox.
