Not every country votes alike. There are several mainstream voting systems used in different ways all over the world. Often, the system a country uses is due to its history. Sometimes, it’s a result of a compromise between disparate groups seeking a delicate balance of power. Each system addresses certain problems with voting representatives from varied populations into each country’s unique legislature.
